The Academy Awards is one of the most glamorous events of the year for Hollywood’s elite. But for supermodels, the star-studded spectacle is an excuse to get glam and don super-sexy ensembles to the many afterparties. Below, we’ve rounded up the most sizzling looks from Miranda Kerr, Kate Upton, Alessandra Ambrosio and more models — and then divided them into two teams: ultra-plunging and super-sheer.

Kerr is red hot in a low-cut custom red-orange KaufmanFranco design with large cutout detailing for the evening. She teamed the high-slit number with gold accessories — a metallic Atelier Swarovski clutch and strappy Christian Louboutin sandals — and her brand-new bob!

Meanwhile, Upton opted for a deep V-neck Victoria Beckham dress, a black-and-gold metallic Jimmy Choo clutch and dazzling drop diamond earrings; and Chanel Iman really took the plunge in a metallic black-and-gold dress with a subtle sheer tulle skirt, which she paired with drop earrings and a sultry smoky eye.

And rounding out the bodice-baring team? Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star Ashley Graham, in a form-fitting bright red custom dress from Bao Tranchi with a high-slit and a large diamond cutout over her chest, which exposed a bustier-style bra. The model paired the statement design with strappy sandals and hoop earrings.

Now for our sheer team! Ambrosio set the tone with a high-neck, form-fitting black velvet dress with sheer cutouts and a thick gold choker. Se cinched the design with a wide black-and-gold belt and kept her beauty look low-key with a soft smoky eye, nude lip and a simple center-parted do.

Emily Ratajkowski wowed in a strapless Steven Khalil gown with a sheer floral embroidered skirt, which she accessorized with Brian Atwood heels, a Tyler Alexandra clutch and a dazzling Neil Lane choker. But the biggest show-stopping look of the night? Natasha Poly’s sleeveless Roberto Cavalli gown, featuring crystal and pearl embroidery, covering all of the right places. She teamed the nearly-naked number with a sleek center-parted hairstyle and a dark-hued mani.

And lastly, Petra Nemcova opted for an off-the-shoulder, black tulle Georges Chakra Couture gown with a ruffled skirt and striped embroidered bodice, which she paired with a satin Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and an equally bold red lip.

Temporarily blonde bombshell Kendall Jenner hit the streets of Paris alongside BFF supermodel Gigi Hadid, sporting a super-affordable top at the height of Fashion Month.

The supermodel opted for a midriff-baring Bossa “Edessa” crop top and choker set ($43), a pair of high-waisted J Brand leather leggings and Sandro booties. She topped the all-black look with a blue fur coat. Très chic.

Miranda Kerr is devoted to constantly bringing you new hair inspiration; however, if you’re looking for Victoria’s Secret beach waves, she’s not your girl. But if you’re looking for haircut inspo, Kerr is here to guide you. The model has a brand new bob for you to pin on your “Short Hair Goals” Pinterest board.

Over the past month, Kerr has given us not one, but two cropped looks to covet. The first, a shoulder-length lob, was revealed in a video on Instagram. But now, the star has gone even shorter — this time with a chin-length cut and a color update. Her overall shade now appears to be brighter than her last ombré look.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Kerr explained that the urge to chop off her voluminous locks was not a spontaneous move, but she needed permission first.

“I’ve been wanting to cut my hair now for at least a year,” she told the magazine. “I’ve often fantasized about it but I haven’t been able to do it because of the contracts that I’ve had, but now I just got clearance from all the clients that I work with, so I was like, ‘Let’s just do it!'”

And judging by her new do, it’s safe to say she’s loving life on the shorter side.

Hedi Slimane Is Leaving Saint Laurent - A Look Back at Some of His Signature Creations

Since Hedi Slimane took over Yves Saint Laurent in 2012, almost overnight he seemed to completely revolutionize and reinvigorate the brand. Not only did he change the name back to its original moniker Saint Laurent, but he moved the studios from their traditional home of Paris to his personal hometown of L.A., and was pretty much given carte blanche by the brand’s owners, luxury conglomerate Kering, causing rancor amongst his fellow, more restricted designers. But it wasn’t just in name alone that he took the fashion house in a new direction, much like Yves in his day, Slimane made Saint Laurent the new it-brand for young celebs and musicians looking to channel that difficult to pin down, insouciant rock ‘n’ roll vibe, quickly establishing a signature aesthetic that can really be summed up in three of his staple pieces.

The Jackets:

Slimane never met a print or a bomber he didn’t like. While every piece from his collections was highly coveted by fashion devotees and spotted on the back of almost every celeb in Hollywood, none more so than his statement bombers. Whether covered in glittery stars, a simple cheetah print, or palm trees, these pieces were some of his biggest hits and sure to be sought after long after Slimane’s departure.

Slimane’s tuxedo suit is just as cool and groundbreaking today as it was when Yves Saint Laurent first came up with the design known as Le Smoking back in the 60s. Though Yves wasn’t the first designer to put a woman in a full suit, he was the first to give them pockets and provide women with a sort of freedom and edginess that was the exclusive purview of men for far too long. While Slimane’s modern update as worn by Emma Watson and Angelina Jolie at the 2015 BAFTAs perfectly encapsulates that same spirit of crisply tailored sophistication, that doesn’t mean he can’t also design a mean evening wear look for the gentlemen out there, as well, as proven by Drake at the 2013 Grammys.

The Dresses:

Finally, the real centerpiece of Slimane’s reign at Saint Laurent, his incomparable red carpet gowns. The designer’s creations ran the gamut from sexy, slinky evening dresses, such as the one worn by his eternal grunge muse Courtney Love, to more conceptual, minimalistic pieces, like the avant-garde look worn by Jane Fonda to this year’s Golden Globes that’s part clamshell, part modern sculpture. But Slimane also proved he could do classic glamour, like Dakota Johnson‘s unforgettable 2015 Oscar’s dress, just as well as more funky, retro-inspired pieces, like the technicolor feathered lamé dress Lady Gaga wore just last week to the Fashion Los Angeles Awards.

While his designs will be missed at the storied French fashion house, given the designer’s penchant to go in and out of the retirement on a whim, we have a feeling this isn’t the last time we’ll see Hedi Slimane on the runway.

Why You’ll Be Wearing a Lace Midi Dress All Summer Long

If there’s one dress that will be everywhere this season, it’s the little lace midi. The style is the perfect combination of flattering, flirty and fun, and we can already see it being the must-have for summer weddings (hello, bridesmaids!), graduations, and beyond. Expect it to clog your Instagram feed shortly with post after post of these as #OOTD outfits, for sure.

So what’s the appeal?

We turned to designer Han Chong of hot London label Self-Portrait for the answer. His collection features plenty of pretty lace midi pieces and stars love ’em, which has helped usher in the rise of this silhouette this season. In fact, Maisie Williams, Miranda Kerr and Bella Thorne are all fans of his popular Azalea dress design. “It’s the perfect balance of sexy, yet appropriate for many occasions,” Chong explains. “The fit of it is also key, as it’s a great shape for so many different body types.”

As for what to wear it with, keep it minimal. Because the dress is so eye-catching, follow the stars’ lead and pair it with a bold lip, simple accessories and an elegant shoe, like a pointy-toe pump or a two-strap sandal.

.

Plus, this look shows just enough skin—arms and legs combined—to be flirty without feeling overexposed. Though, if you’re feeling a little pasty, you’re not alone. That’s an easy three-step solution: Exfoliate (slough away dull, dry skin with a gentle body scrub), moisturize (hydrate with a lightweight lotion, paying extra attention to knees, ankles and elbows) and self-tan (reach for a gradual sunless tanner to get a natural-looking faux glow).
